<p><span>This research paper aims to comparatively analyse the theoretical models of 22 Shruti-s modelled by Bharata Muni around 200 BCE and Dr. Vidyadhar Oke in recent times with respect to their practical applicability in the actual practice of music. Both scholars have used quite different methods for the determination of their models. The comparative analysis of models and methods used by them highlights some stark and even basic differences which will be analysed in this paper. Subsequently, their models will be scrutinised on the basis of practical evidence acquired through empirical researches attempted in the past in the concerned field. It will help to ponder upon the question regarding the extent to which these theoretical models or perhaps any model is applicable or applied in the actual practice of music. In addition, this paper will also hint towards the need for new empirical research in this field for making possible future advancements driven by scientific evidence.<br /></span></p>
